Today, news was received by Slates, that their captain, Kevin Carelock, had maxed out at the tender number of 41.
Kevin had been discovered by Slates a little while ago riding for a small team in Canada. They saw him and knew instantly that this middle-aged rider could be a champion. So they brought him in to the team and he was an instant fit. Although he did not have the success he wanted quite yet, things were looking good as his abilities were getting greater and greater. He was going to be a top climber, but then disaster struck as he maxed out early.
Team manager Michael Slater had this to say, "Its a shame to see Kevin (Carelock), who was such a good rider max out so early , but we will still put our faith in him as leader for now. He is a good rider and hopefully be able to get us up into higher divisions. At that time we will think about looking for a stronger rider as our leader."
When asked about maxing out Kevin Carelock had this to say, "I feel awful right now, I knew I could do much better than this. I aplogize to my teammates, my trainers and my manager for this. I know its not my fault, but I still feel some resposibility for this. As for the future I will hopefully be able to lead the team for a while still, but I will carry out on whatever decision management chooses to do about me."
His potentials show that he could have been a great rider, maybe even rode along with the likes of Ame Anderberg. His potentials were:
CL: Very good
DH: Average
HL: Good
SP: Small
FR: Small
CB: None
TT: Small
TQ: Small

Unlucky mate, he's still good enough to get some nice results in the lower divisions though, a low max Av happens to us (often lower than 41! too) Good fortune is bound to come your way soon!
